Lessons Learned for Jigger

My best friend and trainer, Celine Loguasto nearly bust a gut when she found out I got a terrier. Her exact text message, LOL, ha,ha etc.

She owns a Jack Russell who is like the energizer bunny. I told her that Jiggs is nothing like a JRT and she didn't believe me. (I think I've converted her!)

So far Jiggs has an honourable scar on his butt -- he bit my cat's tail. It's actually quite funny to see him interact with the cat; he thinks the cat is either a toy or a really intriguing dog; but he jumps on him, mauls him and finally can't help himself; bites the cat's twitching tail --- ooops; Ninja nailed him in the butt.

He likes my sister's dog Penny; a poo-shire terrier, he thinks she's fun; she chases him because finally she has found a dog that is smaller than her! He worships Dora; she is his African Queen, but she intimidates him too (which I'm sure she does on purpose).

He tries really hard to potty outside, he'll go to the door, or out the door if I've left the patio door open, however he will potty in the house if you don't catch him in time; so we do a lot of tethering while he is in the house and we are otherwise busy, especially if he's nearing a time for pottying.

He does however sleep all night long, from 10:30 to 8:30 in the morning, he can stay in his crate for about 4 hours before he needs a break.

He's learning to eat raw, but we are warming the outside of the meat at this point since he has a bit of a hard time going through the raw meat; but he's working on it.

We finally went to visit Celine; what a good little dog. He went up to say hi to all the people, wagging his little stubby the whole time, went right up to our intimidating K-9 Officer friend and said hi, had no problem being sniffed and licked by both Celine's GSD and her Beauceron (I'm thinking that having a Boerboel at home makes other dogs seem much less intimidating).

We are so loving him; he is the funniest pup.
